Home Schooling
We can provide curriculum support for secondary school students who are not in mainstream education and are registered as home schooled: children who, for any reason, are not able to attend conventional schooling.
We offer a flexible approach and can support as much or as little of the curriculum as you and your child requires.
The added support we can offer to home schooled students can represent the best of both worlds: outside a traditional school environment but tutored by experienced tutors in the safe, distraction-free environment of the centre. Individual tuition can be tailored to the student’s needs and students build a strong rapport with tutors. We have chosen our tutors carefully and they are all DBS checked .
As a parent, you will always have access to the directors of the centre who can deal with any issues arising and adjust the tuition to your needs.
After an initial meeting to determine your requirements and discuss any issues, we will put together a timetable for you and your child. This can also incorporate study periods at the centre, where the student can do any homework or further study in a distraction-free environment.
- KEY STAGE 3: Years 7-9: Our tuition can cover the same material as the National Curriculum but this can be adjusted according to the child’s needs. Subjects covered include: English, Maths, Science, Geography, History and Modern languages.
- GCSE/iGCSE: Years 10 and 11. Tuition can cover most subjects including Maths, Further Maths, English Language, English Literature, science (double or triple award), Geography, History, Modern Languages, Economics and Business. A programme of study can be devised to suit your child’s needs or requirements. We are not an examination centre so students will need to be entered into for their actual exams at a recognised exam centre. The centre can tutor all exam boards giving you the flexibility to choose the most appropriate.
- A LEVELS/IB: Years 12 and 13. As for GCSE, tuition can cover most subjects above. We can prepare students for any exam board but they will need to sit the exams at a recognised exam centre.
All of our tutors at all levels undergo a rigorous selection process including DBS checks and qualification verification to ensure your peace of mind when they are tutoring your child. Our tutors are or have been teaching in schools and colleges at the appropriate level so have experience preparing students for exams and providing on-going support.
The experience and specialisms of our tutors cover the core subjects of Maths, English, Science and all other academic subjects across primary and secondary stages in independent, grammar and state school settings. Our tutors can prepare students for all public examinations including SATs, GCSEs, IGCSEs, A levels, the IB across all major UK examination boards. We offer scholarship preparation courses for your school of choice. Our tutors can also prepare your children for the world of university and work, with comprehensive interview practice and support for university applications.
We also have tutors available to teach adults. We can arrange classes during the day or at weekends. We offer language courses for the business traveller or simply for those who want a better understanding of a language.
